Responsibilities

This is a talent pipeline opening. We are building a network of qualified talent for general consideration of future full time or temporary Systems Engineer job openings.

GLOTECH, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the corporate office of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment operation in Orlando, Florida.

    Managing and monitoring all installed systems, applications and databases
  • Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems, applications and database availability
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions and work with developers to implement those fixes
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
  • Follow enterprise application development best practices, standards and guidelines
  • Partner with Business Analysis, Architecture, Developers and Information Security resources to interpret and deliver code requirements.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance in terms of technical troubleshooting and resolving significant issues to root cause and take the lead role in resolving an issue
  • Expand existing software to meet the changing needs of our key demographics
  • Capable of creating new software products from the ground up, staying true to our company's core values and needs while lending your own creativity to the mix
  • Produce technical specifications along with code changes
  • Focus on creating fault-tolerant programming
  • Create scalable, automated solutions for our customer base
  • Conduct unit testing for existing and created code to ensure compatibility and stability
  • Configure automated builds and releases to enable quick development cycles
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
  • Liaise with vendors, business partners and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Qualifications
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject or 6 years of practical IT industry experience
  • Excellent n-Tier architecture client/server and web development skills using Microsoft technologies (.NET Framework, ASP.Net, UWP, C#)
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in providing development and support on large scale, corporate business applications in the following areas: Object Oriented (OO) analysis, design and development; Design Patterns; Programming Language - C#; DBMS - Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with developing .NET Core applications
  • Demonstrated success developing and deploying REST-based micro-services
  • Understanding of relational database concepts and experience using SQL
  • Experience with automated unit testing and automated software build processes using VSTS
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
  • Experience with an iterative, Agile/Scrum/Kanban process
  • Experience in software imaging and deployment tools and methodologies
  • Experience in writing and updating Microsoft's automated task framework tool PowerShell
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box)
  • Hybrid schedule with availability to work onsite in Orlando, FL as needed

  • Experience with Mobile Devices for POS and Customer Facing Applications
  • Experience with Point of Sale Software Support, Development and Deployment
  • Technical Writing Skills
  • Theme Park, Admissions or Hospitality experience
