GLOTECH, Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the corporate office of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, located in Orlando, Florida.

The Senior Systems Engineer's role is to design, install, administer and optimize company servers, storage infrastructure, and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, configuring all new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment. Where applicable, this position will oversee the physical and logical security, integrity, and safety of the data center/server farm. Lead and mentor a team on the administration of approximately 900 servers including Microsoft Server 2012 R2 through 2019. Oversee the administration for Hyper-V and VMware virtual server environments and shared storage infrastructure. This position also includes architecting and implementing cloud migrations were applicable.

    Ongoing maintenance of existing System Center infrastructure. Team effort involving fellow System Engineers and Administration staffs. Creation and execution of future SCOR automation run books as required by the business. Assist in SCOM alert tuning, closure event tuning, and reporting. SCCM administration duties are to maintain and enhance already existing infrastructure, including the expansion of the environment from single primary multiple secondary sites, to central administration, two primaries, and 2x secondary.
  • Proactive monitoring of all servers, applications and services using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and exceed SLAs, maintain server performance, collect and review system data for capacity and planning purposes. Update/monitor server KPIs at defined intervals and compile monthly report summarizing the health/status of servers across the enterprise.
  • Perform a wide range of system engineering and administration duties on web, application, database, and other servers and storage infrastructure, including install, debug, maintain, upgrade, and tier-3 support. This would include testing and deployment of hardware and software, assist in disaster recovery planning and create/maintain documentation for all processes and procedures, among other duties. Maintain security best practices on all operating systems
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide off-hour support; perform troubleshooting as needed; work closely with the IT team to provide end-user support and issue resolution, leading efforts for root cause analysis
  • Leading the development, implementation, and migration of systems to Azure Cloud
  • Support the development and execution of Office 365/Azure AD roadmaps and service strategy.
  • Provide guidance / mentoring to administrators on the infrastructure team, as well as other departments within IT
  • Assist in developing, implementing, testing and maintaining disaster recovery plans for the server and storage infrastructure, including application availability and business continuity.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • Minimum 7 years' experience with enterprise-level hardware & networking
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience migrating applications to cloud platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of installations, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting of Windows Server operating systems
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft System Center suite
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to research & solve complex issues independently.
  • Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with Microsoft clustering technologies used in conjunction with SQL Server, DHCP Server, and Hyper-V
  • Experience in leading initiatives for root cause analysis and new system evaluations
  • Experience with NAS/SAN administration
  • Experience with PCI compliance and familiar with the PCI DSS requirements
  • Knowledge in both Microsoft and Linux operating systems
  • Hybrid schedule, with availability to work onsite, in Orlando as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MCSA, MCSE
  • Microsoft Azure Certifications
  • Experience with technical writing
  • Previous hospitality or theme park experience is desirable
  • Travel may be required
