A Certified Weld Inspector with 7+ years’ experience.
The position will create and maintain all Weld procedures, qualifications, weld maps and welder documentation. Performs VT and dimensional inspections of Fabrications.
This position also may include non-destructive examinations of primary pipe, structural steel, stainless and aluminum.
The successful candidate may perform NDE examinations, personally owned equipment is a plus.

Primary Responsibilities
- Experience to include industry standards (ASNT, AISC, AWS).
- Create and maintaining WPS's, PQR's, Weld maps, Welder qualifications and continuity records.
- Experienced in performing non-destructive testing processes and applications.
- Personally owned equipment for NDE; VT, PT and MT is a plus.
- Proven competence in identifying issues and developing successful solutions.
Knowledge and Skills
- Self-motivated with a strategic mindset
- Assist in market analysis, proposal identification and development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) skills
- Specific industry knowledge relevant to NDE of process systems
Education and Certifications
- CWI Certification for structural welding is REQUIRED
- Certified Pressure Vessel Inspector
- Certified Piping Inspector preferred
- ASNT Level II or III Certification
- 5+ years of successful process systems NDE experience
- Bachelors of Science; Engineering or technical degree preferred
Typical Physical Demands
- May require varied hours and work schedules.
- Required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl within a shop or field environment and talk, hear, and smell.
- Required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and sometimes required to maneuver equipment weighing significantly more.
- Occasionally required to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- May be required to drive both short and long distances.
- Specific vision abilities are required as identified in the AWS, CWI and ASNT qualification documents.
- These demands must be met to successfully perform the responsibilities of this job.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which may include fall protection, eye, hearing, respiratory, facial, and body protection; protective apron, steel toe shoes, gloves, hard hats, or face shields, or other to meet specific site conditions.
- Occasionally must work in high heat conditions and elevated locations.
- Site may be an indoor or outdoor process facility, or any other industrial facility.
- Collaborative working environment GP and client organizations.
- Must exhibit respect for clients and GP Strategies teams.
