JOB DESCRIPTION


Summary


As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, deploying, and maintaining the IT infrastructure for a global logistics and maintenance system using the latest technology. You will work collaboratively with a team of software engineers to ensure the seamless operation, security, and reliability of the system. Your expertise in AWS, RHEL, KVM, Ansible, and Kubernetes will be essential in creating and managing robust infrastructure that meet the unique needs of this global system.


Essential Functions


  • Design and develop scripts and templates to automate processes for creating, managing, and updating IT infrastructure, ensuring faster and more efficient operations.
  • Work closely with software development and IT operations teams to understand their needs, making sure the software and infrastructure are aligned to support business goals.
  • Implement and manage version control systems and automate the deployment process to ensure that code can be quickly and reliably deployed to various environments.
  • Test automated processes and configurations, verifying that they are secure, reliable, and meet performance standards.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure, identifying issues and opportunities to improve system performance, stability, and security.
  • Ensure proper documentation and knowledge sharing among team members to maintain best practices and promote innovation.

Specific Required Skills


  • Extensive experience with RedHat Linux and KVM (administration/configuration level)
  • Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle using modern FOSS and COTS
  • Infrastructure as Code (IAC) Development using Ansible
  • Understanding of Infrastructure (Servers, Hypervisors (VMs), Networking, Firewalls, Storage)
  • General Kubernetes Understanding
  • Ability to work and build relationships with business leaders from a variety of internal and external stakeholders (JPO Customer, corporate, finance, operations, supply chain)
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to tailor messaging based on the audience

Required Education or Experience


3 or more years of work experience in similar tools and automation


Eligibility Qualifications


Ability to obtain a Security Clearance


Must be a US Citizen
