HDR is hiring an Electronic Security Designer 2 to join our team in Orlando, FL.

Primary Responsibilities:

Primary duties will include the development of design specifications and drawings for integrated low voltage systems. Major areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Meeting with clients to determine detailed communications project requirements
  • Develop communications design narratives, specifications, drawings and cost estimates for projects
  • Coordinate electronic security design work with other disciplines such as Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.
  • Formally present electronic security design ideas and submissions to clients
  • Perform internal quality assurance/quality control for peer projects
  • Perform contractor bid submittal review for completeness
  • Provide construction administration services during construction phases of projects

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or combination of education and relevant experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in low voltage system design
  • Must be able to travel up to 40% of the time
  • Broad industry knowledge and experience with Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion Detection, Systems, UFC Standards,
  • Must be self-starting, self-directing, and task oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a number of concurrent projects and meet deadlines
  • Must possess strong written, verbal and communications skills
  • Strong computer skills required, such as MS Office Suite, working across multiple office networks and automated business systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • PSP certification is preferred
  • CEPTED preferred
  • AutoCAD, Microstation, VISIO, Bluebeam experience is a plus
  • Military design experience is a plus
  • Local candidates are preferred
