Department:PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT Organizational Unit:Roadway and Bridge (50000074)

Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Full Time

Open Until Filled.

$3,057.34 to $3,363.07 biweekly. Actual salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.Performs professional engineering work planning, designing, reviewing, inspecting, and/or implementing assigned projects for the Public Works Department.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or another Engineering field, which includes experience related to bridges, drainage or other structures, and/or roadways. Bridge experience is preferred. A Florida Board of Professional Engineers (FBPE) Certification as an Engineer Intern (EI) or Engineer in Training (EIT) is preferred. [An Engineering Intern (EI)/Engineer in Training (EIT) is a person who has graduated from an Engineering curriculum approved by the FBPE and who has passed the Fundamentals of Engineering examination, as provided by the rules adopted by the FBPE].SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
