ABOUT THE JOB

Tepa Companies is seeking an Environmental Remediation Engineer to support multi-year environmental remediation projects for various federal agencies. Remediation engineering expertise will be applied to the investigation/characterization, remedial design, remedy implementation/construction, operations and maintenance and/or long-term monitoring phases of the CERCLA, RCRA Corrective Action and/or state regulatory program processes.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Engineering support to environmental remediation projects.
  • Preparation of planning documents, designs, reports and as-builts.
  • Remedial alternative evaluation and design of various in-situ and ex-situ treatment approaches.
  • Prepare design calculations, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Preparation of subcontractor scopes of work and specifications.
  • Solicitation, evaluation, and procurement of subcontractors for investigation or remediation projects.
  • Lead or support in-house field teams conducting remediation activities.
  • Oversight of subcontractors conducting remediation activities.
  • Ability to support multiple projects and tasks concurrently, while adhering to cost and schedule.
  • Support proposal efforts.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (a master's degree is preferred).
  • Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license within 2 years.
  • Minimum of 3 years of environmental remediation experience providing engineering support to projects under CERCLA, RCRA Corrective Action and/or state regulatory programs.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and keep organized to ensure timely and accurate work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and individually.
  • Strong self-motivation and initiative.
  • Experience and/or familiarity with the following environmental remediation practice areas:
    1. Treatment technologies for a variety of contaminants to include in-situ aerobic and anaerobic enhanced bioremediation, in-situ chemical oxidation, ex-situ treatment systems (e.g., pump and treat, air sparge, SVE, etc.) and remedial excavations.
    2. Identification, selection and design of remedial technologies and approaches.
    3. Remedial alternative cost estimate development.
    4. Remedy implementation oversight.
    5. Operations and maintenance and performance monitoring evaluation and optimization.
    6. Investigation and/or remediation of PFAS impacted sites.
    7. Various multi-media investigative techniques to include high resolution site characterization (HRSC).
    8. Screening levels and the risk assessment process.
