General Position Description

Conti Federal is looking to add a BIM Specialist to its team! The BIM Specialist will contribute to the successful BIM coordination and internal communication of BIM specific requirements of each client and project to BIM staff assigned to each specific project. They will turn rough sketches into technical drawings, such as facility layouts, floor plans, topographical profiles, cross-sections, roadway maps, and electrical designs. The BIM Specialist will be expected to apply multiple engineering and CAD disciplines, and ensure adherence of structural elements to technical drafting standards. Success in this role will be demonstrated by producing an accurate visual representation of projects that meet client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting with engineers, draftsmen, and designers to review design drawings and specifications.
  • Inputting design specifications into the CAD software.
  • Creating 2D drawings and 3D models according to client specifications.
  • Working with a design team and individually on BIM and CAD projects.
  • Reviewing BIM and CAD projects with the client and making adjustments.
  • Conducing final model rendering and delivering the final product.
  • Support the creation of job reports.
  • Exercise a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when working with staff, projects and proprietary information.
  • Develop models virtually for specific design purposes.
  • Ensure that the model aligns with the standards and goals set in the BIM project workflow criteria.
  • Collaborate and coordinate internally and/or externally with other disciplines design changes and model changes.
  • Create discipline-specific BIM Modeling content.
  • Develop accurate construction drawings and extract data based on the discipline BIM platform.
  • Coordinate design documentation as a methodology with full utilization of BIM software and tools.
  • Prepare project-specific training documentation.
  • Maintain proficiency in using BIM authoring tools to provide technical support and mentoring as needed to the project team.
  • Manage and maintain project content and source any additional content as required.
  • Understand and ensure any changes in procedure and standards are effectively communicated to project teams.
  • Coordinate and manage BIM project data sets/workflow and project set up.
  • Communicate effectively and offer cross-team support.
  • Set up linked models and coordinate models across disciplines.
  • Daily model management administration and maintenance.
  • Occasional travel to various project sites.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • For Security Clearance Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least two years of BIM experience authoring and drafting models using programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, Fabrication CADMEP, as well as project management environments (ACC/BIM360, CMiC, or Procore).
  • CAD Certification.
  • Previous experience as a BIM specialist and/or CAD technician.
  • Advanced knowledge of BIM, and Revit/Autocad software.
  • Ability to read and translate blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Basic understanding of building design and mechanical processes.
  • Direct experience working with multi-discipline project teams.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Engaged, proactive, resourceful, and self-motivated.
  • Deadline driven and able to multi-task efficiently.
  • Possesses strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
