UCF's Advancement & Partnerships division comprises the Office of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving and the UCF Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to assist donors wishing to offer private support to deliver resources beyond traditional funding sources, such as tuition, state support and government research grants. We are a powerful team of 150+ professionals who support the university by soliciting, accepting and managing gifts as well as engaging alumni. Together, we work with alumni, friends, corporations, parents and others who seek to make gifts in support of priorities and initiatives in alignment with the university's strategic plan.

The Opportunity:

The University of Central Florida Foundation, Inc. (UCFF) is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Associate VP/CFO for UCF Foundation. As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of UCFF, you will play a critical role in providing strategic financial leadership to support our mission and goals.

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President for Advancement and Partnerships and CEO of the UCF Foundation, Inc., this position will serve as the CFO and a key leadership position responsible for overseeing financial operations, budgeting, and financial strategy to ensure the success of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing the fiscal activities of the UCF Foundation including the planning, implementation, and supervision of accounting systems, policies, procedures, and internal controls.

  • Works closely with UCF's Chief Financial Officer and Controller on fiscal matters involving the Foundation and with Foundation legal counsel on related legal matters including financing and real estate.

  • Responsible for investment and banking relationships including dealing directly with investment consultants, investment custodians, and banks.

  • Manages treasury functions and daily cash position and has authority to disperse funds as approved by the board and has check signing authority on authorized bank accounts.

  • Staffs the Investment, Audit, Real Estate, and Financial Committees of the Board of Directors.

  • Responsible for the development and supervision of the annual operating budget and the operating and capital budgets for all buildings.

  • Solicits and negotiates financing from banking institutions, real estate investment trusts and other funding sources.

  • Schedules, coordinates and assists auditors from independent CPA firms.

  • Approves annual audited and quarterly financial statements.

  • Maintains expertise in governmental and not-for-profit accounting and tax issues; and implements procedural changes as needed to ensure that the Foundation maintains compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Responsible for overall goal setting for the department and implementation of the accounting department objectives.

  • Responsible for the State Charitable Organization annual registrations and filing requirements program.

  • Serves as Risk Manager for the Foundation with oversight for the process of identifying, measuring and managing insurable or hazard risks.

  • Directs the purchase of insurance products, management of claims and loss control activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience with at least 5+ years of leadership experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in financial leadership roles, ideally in a higher education or nonprofit setting.

  • Strong strategic planning and partnership development skills.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage high-performing teams.

  • Budgeting and financial analysis expertise.
