Job Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for the activities across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for a Learning Management System (LMS), Learning Assessment System (LAS), and Learning Records Store (LRS) system, providing the ability to deliver training content in a virtual learning environment, conduct assessments, and capture/track student performance metrics for approximately 2,000 Active Duty and Reserve Sailors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the development of interface requirements and interface specification documentation.
  • Coordinate integration activities with integration/interface working group members, develops test plans for integration/interface testing and produce test result reports and metrics collection.
  • Generate or provide input for new or existing documentation.
  • Lead interface requirements reviews in a cross-functional setting to support verification activities, traceability, and assessment/analysis of risk.
  • Support test planning by identifying testability requirements and supporting review of test cases and defects, as needed.
  • Provide input to planning and scheduling direction for project and release management.
  • Coordinate with Cyber Security team to ensure designs comply with Government security standards.
  • Provide clear goals for all areas of responsibility and develop steps to oversee their timely execution.
  • Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including materials, manpower and time necessary.
  • Assist other department engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to other members of the team.
  • Works closely with Cyber Security Engineers, Solutions Architects, Software Developers, Test Engineers, Operations Team, Product Owners, and with Creative Technologists to produce effective and functional solutions while maintaining design integrity across all project phases.
  • Be proactive about challenges or constraints within a project and seek to manage them accordingly.
  • Mentor and train other engineers throughout the company and seek to continually improve processes companywide.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess or be able to obtain an active U.S. Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Mathematics, or Technical Science (e.g., Engineering) and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience.
  • Must have proven knowledge and expertise in software and system requirements, and be able to take ownership of requirements traceability for any derived lower-level requirements up to the applicable source (system-level requirements) from which they originated.
  • Must understand on-line learning environments.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be analytical and able to problem solve for technical issues.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and be able to work independently with little or no supervision, be exceedingly well organized, and flexible.
  • Must be skilled in data and spreadsheet analysis and presentation of information including graphic software such as PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Strong computer skills including business solution software.
  • Prior experience working with programming languages, hardware, operating systems, and software a plus.
  • Prior experience with cloud environments such as AWS or Salesforce CRM as plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform diverse duties while operating under time constraints.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness; monitored own work to ensure quality.
  • Demonstrated project development and leadership skills.
  • Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures.
  • Advanced education and/or application of business analysis techniques and strategy.
  • Professional experience and a high-level understanding of working with various systems and their implications.
  • Experience with software engineering and customer experience preferred.
  • Ability to work together with teams from several departments to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan.

Job Requirements

WORK SCHEDULE

Full time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

TRAVEL

Potential for travel. Travel less than 25%.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver's license and be insurable on the company's automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 10%.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is expected to be remote; however, the company reserves the right to require onsite work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, bending, stooping, crouching, and lifting weights up to 20 pounds. Frequently uses hands/fingers for manipulation of keyboard and mouse.   • $100k-$140k per year
