Job Description

The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for an Accountant III to support our corporate office in Orlando, Florida.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded.
  • Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
  • Has overall responsibility for overseeing assigned accounting functions.
  • Supervise and guide lower-level accountants and clerical level staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Preferred bachelor's degree in directly related field.
  • Associate degree required with at least four (4) years of professional level accounting is acceptable in lieu of bachelor's degree.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of four (4) years directly related experience required.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
  • Must be accurate in both processes and content.
  • Proficient knowledge of Costpoint.
  • Cognos knowledge is a plus.
  • Government Contracting knowledge and experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of FAR and JTR is preferred.
  • Relies extensively on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
