College of Medicine, Office of Student Affairs:

The College of Medicine, Office of Student Affairs supports students throughout their medical education. The office supports the students from recruitment, application, and admission through graduation and beyond, by providing outstanding student-centered services in the core functions of admissions, counseling and wellness, student financial services, student records, student academic support, and student services, while collaborating with faculty and staff in the development and education of exemplary physicians.

The Opportunity:

The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine (COM) Student Academic Support Services (SASS) is seeking qualified candidates for a Student Resource Specialist II position. The Student Resource Specialist II will support and manage the SASS office in person Monday through Friday 7:30 am-4:30 pm. The core components of this position will be leading and coordinating the Peer Academic Coaching (PAC), coordinating and proctoring assessments (quizzes, exams, etc.), and supporting the implementation of ADA accommodations.

Responsibilities:

  • Proctor all written assessments (Quizzes, IRATs, Midterm, Final Exams, make-up, remediations, etc.).

  • Responsible for coordination and communication of all assessment accommodation information to all stakeholders (Assessment Team, Clerkship Team, Clinical Skills Lab, students, etc.).

  • Responsible for all accommodation assessment communication with students (emails with detailed information, calendar invites, etc.).

  • Responsible for coordinating and maintaining the digital file system student notes and accommodations.

  • Responsible for managing the Peer Academic Coaching (PAC) Program by coordinating various learning/supports and activities, PAC recruitment, training, etc.

  • Responsible for successfully coordinating and managing procedures/processes related to identifying PACs, managing online applications, pairing students with PACs, monthly PAC training and newsletter, facilitating group workshops for all M1 modules, Step 1 panel, initial PAC training, gathering data on hours of PAC tutoring, etc.

  • Responsible for monitoring, managing, and replying to the SASSCOM@ucf.edu email account.

  • Responsible for examining, processing, and maintaining all office files and other departmental documents.

  • Responsible for coordinating and scheduling meeting rooms and appointments.

  • Responsible for participating in orientation activities.

  • Serve as a liaison with other departments.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned including, but not limited to, timely completion of all required university and college training and updates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience facilitating, proctoring, and conducting communication for written assessments in a higher education/medical school setting.

  • Experience leading a peer tutoring training program and facilitating matching students with peer tutors based on learning styles and study resource preferences.

  • Excellent organization skills, comfortable utilizing digital platforms (Webcourses, Teams, Outlook, etc.).

  • Ability to interact, resourceful, and proactive manner to facilitate office functions.

  • Outstanding customer service skills, and external and internal communication skills (written and oral).
