Summary of Responsibilities

Operates in the field, on-call or provides technical support to assigned customers. Installs, configures, performs problem determination, and maintains products and equipment at customer sites, following blueprints and manufacturer's instructions, utilizing product and technical knowledge of equipment. Repairs or coordinates repair of worn or defective products or equipment. Perform skilled, technical work in the design, installation, testing, calibration, maintenance, and repair for assigned product or process.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Operate equipment that fuses HDPE piping.
  • Ability to help maneuver, cut, fuse and fit HDPE for custom installs of piping systems and repair systems.
  • Electro fuses and structure welds.
  • Builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and modifies equipment, parts, components, and assemblies.
  • Evaluates performance and reliability of materials to determines if final product meets quality control standards.
  • Transports equipment to job site and assists site supervisors with the materials, equipment needs, and helping to collect supplies for projects
  • Operates field equipment, forklift, loader, etc.
  • Learns and understands technical equipment; attends company sponsored training and completes certification as required.
  • Ability to communicate with clients and peers with professionalism.
  • Perform all job duties in a safe and proper manner.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Generally, 2 - 5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.

Problem Complexity

  • Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.

Autonomy

  • Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior co-worker or supervisor.

Environmental Job Requirements

  • Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odors.
  • Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8 - 20 pounds).
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
