Job Overview: To ensure that payroll and accounting functions are completed in a timely manner and according to established policies, laws & regulations. You will also be responsible for doing payroll audits and answering all the payroll-related questions. In addition to this, you should be tracking all the missing timesheets of employees and ensuring the data is accurate.

Pay: $24/hour

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintains responsibility for and properly handles all payroll functions to include bi-weekly payroll processing; managing the Timekeeper system, UKG and other payroll systems.
  • Ensures all records are filed correctly and are retained for the required length of time in the accounting offices to include payroll retention.
  • Ensure proper End of Month reporting.
  • Collect and review timesheets, attendance records, and other relevant data to prepare payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and company policies related to payroll and employee compensation.
  • Verify and reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Process payroll through the designated payroll system, making necessary adjustments as required.
  • Prepare various payroll reports and audits weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually, as applicable.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, deductions, and tax withholdings in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to address payroll-related matters and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Provide support during audits and other compliance-related activities.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes, improve efficiency, and reduce errors.
  • Participate in training and development activities to stay current on payroll regulations and industry trends.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Specific Job Knowledge and Skills:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Basic knowledge of bookkeeping filing systems.
  • Some knowledge of EEOC and employment laws.
  • Basic mathematical skill and ability to operate a 10 key by touch.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform repetitious work.
  • Ability to interact with and maintain confidential material and information.
  • Maintaining reports on any payroll changes.
  • Computing salaries, benefits, and wages accurately.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • UKG Payroll software experience desirable

  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. This includes nights, weekends and/or holidays.
  • All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
  • Complies with health and safety rules, regulations, and procedures to maintain a safe environment.
