Job Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for contributing to the development of a Learning Management System (LMS), Learning Assessment System (LAS), and Learning Records Store (LRS) system, providing the ability to deliver training content in a virtual learning environment, conduct assessments, and capture/track student performance metrics for approximately 2,000 Active Duty and Reserve Sailors. Understand and support external customers across functional boundaries. The Integration and Test methodology should focus equally on the user experience, functionality, and system performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and maintain test system configurations, maintain test data sets, write test plans and procedures ensuring traceability, and perform test executions (Automated and Manual).
  • Create, execute, and maintain test cases and scripts using Playwright, TypeScript, and CucumberJS.
  • Produce reports and detailed documentation for all manual and automated testing efforts, results, activities, data, logging, and tracking.
  • Research and resolve technical issues independently, anticipate problems and circumvent them by effectively planning, communicating, and implementing alternative solutions.
  • Communicate and work effectively with the Test, Development, and Systems Engineering teams along with the Test Lead to understand project direction including user stories/acceptance criteria, the automation test process and how it functions within the overall SDLC.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the interrelationship of technology and the business application for the customer.
  • Effectively multitask across complex assignments and identify obstacles ahead of time.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors' degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience working in an integrated environment and multi-discipline collaboration (e.g., SDET, Test Engineer, Systems Engineer, Software Developers, DevOps, etc.).
  • Must have experience in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.).
  • Obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Experience in test automation using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
  • Familiarity with utilizing open-source software and basic API integration.
  • Experience working with Cloud environments such as AWS and Salesforce CRM a plus.
  • Experience with continuous integration methodologies using tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, BuildKite, GitLab etc.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Proficient using IDE tools such as Visual Studio Code and IntelliJ.
  • Proficient with programming languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience with issue and project management tools such as JIRA.
  • Experience with all levels of testing - unit, functional, system level.
  • Experience with developing test plans, test cases, and test scripts that trace to requirements (both manual and automated).
  • Experience with best practices in configuration management.
  • Excellent communication skills required to interact with test lead, other test team members, development team, and customers daily.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working both independently and with various skill sets including other integrators and testers.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and efficient with ability to document all levels of testing from unit to system testing.
Job Requirements

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

TRAVEL

The expected travel time is less than 25%.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver's license and be insurable on the company's automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 25%.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is expected to be remote; however, the company reserves the right to require onsite work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, bending, stooping, crouching, and lifting weights up to 20 pounds. Frequently uses hands/fingers for manipulation of keyboard and mouse. Seeing up close, must not be color blind. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Pay is $75,000 to $85,000 per year.
