Job Description

Katmai is looking for a Junior Infrastructure Administratorto provide responsive and thorough technical administration of the enterprise infrastructure to include on-premises and cloud infrastructure, systems, and networking. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the organization's hardware and software is up-to-date and running efficiently. You will respond to escalated service tickets for assistance with enterprise applications, systems, and/or network issues to solve them in a timely manner. Excellent technical knowledge, troubleshooting/root cause analysis (RCA), documentation skills, and the ability to communicate effectively are key for this role.

SUMMARY

Provide responsive and thorough technical administration of the enterprise infrastructure to include on-premises and cloud infrastructure, systems, and networking. Responsible for ensuring the organization's hardware and software is up-to-date and running efficiently. Respond to escalated service tickets for assistance with enterprise applications, systems, and/or network issues to solve them in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and maintain the organization's network infrastructure to keep it running at peak capacity.
  • Provide technical support to end-users in a timely and efficient manner, owning assigned tickets through closure.
  • Perform routine maintenance on hardware and software as approved through change control board.
  • Ensure all hardware and software is up-to-date and running efficiently.
  • Assist in the implementation of new hardware and software.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining technical documentation.
  • As needed, perform remote troubleshooting through effective diagnostic techniques and asking pertinent questions while walking the customer through problem-solving as a collaborative process.
  • Determine the best solution each issue, leveraging all available details, troubleshooting, review of knowledgebase, and input of other, more experienced team members.
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel after fully updating the service ticket with all details.
  • Provide accurate information on IT systems or services and make recommendations that would enhance the services we provide.
  • Meet all existing customer service level agreements (SLAs), follow-up with the customer to provide updated status and information, and confirm the resolution satisfactorily addressed their issues.
  • Record events, problems, and resolutions in rough draft for inclusion in the knowledgebase.
  • Create technical documentation to include drawings, processes, and procedures, and assist in creating enterprise policies.
  • Pass on any customer feedback or suggestions to the appropriate internal team.
  • Seek and participate in personal and professional development opportunities to maintain a detailed knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and business needs.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in information technology, management information systems or computer science preferred.
  • In lieu of degree, four (4+) plus years of relevant experience.
  • Proven work experience as an enterprise systems and/or network administrator.
  • Three (3) + years of documented current industry experience.
  • Highly effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to include performing root cause analysis (RCA) and associated reporting.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft OS, Mac/iOS, Linux, MS SQL, and enterprise backup solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Azure and AWS clouds, M365 applications and licensing, and typical enterprise applications
  • Working knowledge of multifactor authentication and privileged access management (PAM).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Intune and Apple Business Manager.
  • Working knowledge of networking services and common network protocols.
  • Working knowledge of HPE wired and wireless networking, security, and cloud-based management and monitoring systems.
  • Working knowledge of change and configuration management.
  • Experience in basic wired/wireless networking, firewalls, and network access control with the ability to deploy, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot.
  • Experience with secure remote desktop applications.
  • Experience with Dell imaging technologies for hands free deployment of end user computer systems.
  • Experience supporting a combination of a wide mobile workforce and multiple sites.
  • Excellent technical knowledge, troubleshooting/root cause analysis (RCA), documentation skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks. (U.S. citizenship required)

  • Proficient troubleshooter with a depth of experience and strong critical thinking abilities, adept at effectively addressing challenges amidst heightened workload demands.
  • Knowledge of a variety of modern software applications and the versatility to learn new tools.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working with various skill sets, developers, system, and security engineers.
  • Upbeat and passionate about driving highly effective IT services.
  • Experience leading a team through an enterprise project.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Professional certification(s).
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
Job Requirements

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-Time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

TRAVEL

The expected travel time is less than 25%.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:

Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver's license and be insurable on the company's automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 25%.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a hybrid setting. Employee will work remotely and, in an office setting in Orlando, FL. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position consists of seeing up close and sitting for long periods of time, bending, stooping, crouching, and lifting up to 30 pounds. Frequently uses hands/fingers for manipulation of keyboard and mouse.
