Job Description

The Commercial Insurance Market area maintains profitable growth delivered through competitively priced, locally tailored medical products and services that provide a clearly superior value to our group and individual customers.

The Mid-Market Account Executive is responsible for focusing on renewals of clients. The position would be more tactical vs strategic as evidenced by the volume of clients assigned to the book of business.

Important to Know

  • Must reside in the Orlando, FL to support clients in the following countiesOrange, Lake, Osceola, Sumter,Volusia, Flagler, Brevard, Polk, and Marion
  • Frequent travel (70%) facilitating field training, strategizing, building, and maintaining business relationships
  • Hold an active State of Florida Health and Life Insurance license.
  • Valid State Driver's License

What You Will Be Doing

  • The functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned.
  • Focus on obtaining required goals while selling value-added BCBSFL products and services to employers with 51-499 employees in the Orlando marketplace.
  • Facilitate overall agent partnerships by developing agent strategy and implement and manage execution of the agreed upon strategy.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with a specific assigned group of agents.
  • Recruit new agent relationships and develop agents to become producers of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida health and ancillary products.
  • Use relationships with agents and key community leaders to generate new sales.
  • Educate agents on BCBSFL sales processes, products, pricing, policies, and procedures.
  • Act as liaison or key point of contact between agent and BCBSFL.
  • Build strong relationships with individuals within and outside the sales organization who support selling of our products.
  • Manage the agent through the BCBSFL sales process to achieve sales goals through collateral material, lead generation, proposal, and rating, influencing RFP's, closing/acquisition, objection handling, and enrollment/implementation.
  • Create commitment to BCBSFL by moving agent to higher levels (Gold and Blue Diamond).

What You Must Have

  • 3+ years related work experience or equivalent combination of transferable experience and education in Insurance sales or account services with thorough knowledge of the health insurance (Life or P&C) industry, agent distribution systems, sales promotion principles and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Related Bachelor's degree or additional related equivalent work experience
  • Active State of Florida Health and Life Insurance license.
  • Valid State Driver's License.
  • Excellent collaboration/relationship building, analytical, problem solving and continuous improvement skills.
  • Experience with creating and delivering presentations.

What We Prefer

  • Group Health Insurance experience in the Orlando area.
  • Knowledge of BCBSF policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge or sales experience with ancillary products (life, dental, STD).
  • Any professional designations related to the Health Insurance Industry.
  • Experience working with insurance agents in the Orlando market with knowledge of group insurance underwriting.

General Physical Demands

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
  • Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

Salary

To support your financial wellbeing, we offer competitive pay as well as opportunities for incentive or commission compensation. We also conduct regular annual reviews with pay for performance considerations for base pay increases.

  • Typical Annualized Hiring Range: $85,600 - $107,000
  • Annualized Salary Range: $85,600 - $139,100
  • Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
