As a Senior Insurance Risk Manager, you'll join a hardworking team of experts in the development of a world-leading risk management organization and Property and Casualty insurance portfolios. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of risk management policies and procedures for tracking, managing, and retiring risks across the enterprise by identifying, measuring, and mitigating risk in the organization, to optimize and enhance business operations.

You'll work under supervision of the Senior Insurance Risk Manager (Property & Casualty) to facilitate and mature the Insurance program across the company by working with internal and external stakeholders. Success will be dependent on your ability to build upon the enterprise-wide insurance program and plans in place to identify, assess, and mitigate a broad range of insurable and non-insurable risks. You'll also own and drive the Property program forward through ideas, innovation, available market solutions, and technology.

The Insurance program is overseen by the Chief Risk & Trade Compliance Officer and General Counsel, and this role reports to the Director of Insurance.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical experience, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.

  • Relocation provided
  • Travel expected up to 50% of the time for the first year, will diminish over time
Responsibilities include:
  • Efficiently develop information for the program renewals for the Property and Casualty programs and assist another Senior Risk Manager to work and close claims
  • Ensuring that Risk engineering recommendations are followed through and closed timely. Negotiates with and actively works with Facilities, Security, Site Directors, and Finance to resolve risk engineering and risk management recommendations
  • Contract review for deviations against standard insurance clauses
  • Special risk projects as planned and directed
  • Reviews policies and endorsements for errors and improvements , and negotiate with insurers in conjunction with brokers
  • Anticipate and drive improvements to the insurance strategy as the risk profile evolves and rapidly scales up with the company's assets and operations
  • Collaborate with Finance for accurate budgeting and forecasting of insurance premiums and exposures
  • Effectively manage business relationships with Third-Party Administrators, Brokers, and Underwriters
  • Work to develop our Risk Management Information System, Riskonnect, by partnering with other members of the Risk Team
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors' degree in Business, Finance, or Risk Management
  • 7+ years of progressive corporate risk management, insurance company, or insurance brokerage experience in a complex organization with demonstrated success assessing risk, mitigating risk, contract review, insurance placement and management, and claims management
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal professionally with internal stakeholders, third-party administrators, and brokers
  • Project management experience
  • Experience delivering under pressure with tight time constraints, as well as managing frequent interruptions, unresolved situations, competing priorities, frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Advanced Excel, Office, and PowerPoint proficiency
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred Qualifications
  • ARM, CRM, CPCU, or other Risk Management professional designations preferred.
  • MBA or advanced post graduate degree
  • Experience in Risk Management Information Systems (e.g., Riskonnect)
  • Experience in Project Management applications (e.g., Airtable)
