General Purpose of Job

This position will be responsible for talent acquisition by identifying, attracting, and hiring qualified candidates to meet the staffing needs of the organization. Daily tasks will be responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process, from sourcing and screening to assisting with interviewing and onboarding, ensuring a positive experience for both candidates and hiring managers.

Minimum

High School or GED

Preferred

4 Year / Bachelor's Degree

Major:

human resources, business administration or a related field

Experience

Minimum

Two (2) years recent active recruitment experience using job boards, social media, and networking to attract candidates

Preferred

Experience or similar work with an electric utility or related industry.

Education and/or Experience Notes

Job related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment, including a personal computer, printers, copy machines, telephone, and fax machine.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work irregular hours for assignment completion and flexibility to change scheduling and report to work on short notice during emergency situations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Normal work hours shall be eight (8) hours between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment tools.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.

Driving Requirements Valid Florida Driver's License

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information, and effectively manage stress and pressure in a frequently changing environment, ability to multi-task calmly and effectively in all situations.
  • Ability to collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Ability to prepare reports on recruitment activities, including time-to-fill, success of recruitment strategies and other relevant metrics.
  • Broad knowledge of diversity and inclusion processes, procedures, best practices, resources, and networks
  • Computer literacy including proficiency with MS Windows, Outlook, and MS Office Suite; knowledge in the use of Jobvite or comparable Applicant Tracking System (ATS); ability to conduct internet research using job boards.
  • Demonstrated business skills including written and verbal communication with the ability to accurately prepare all types of office correspondence, reports, presentations, and present information to employee groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to review resumes and applications to assess candidates' qualifications and suitability for positions.
  • Detail orientation with the ability to work independently and in a team environment to accomplish established goals and meet deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with colleges, universities, and other educational institutions to build a pipeline of potential candidates.
  • Excellent customer service orientation and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with managers, employees, and the public; ability to exercise good judgment, sound reasoning skills and discretion in making independent decisions commensurate with responsibilities; excellent planning and organizational skills, and creativity.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration, state and federal laws, employment laws, regulations and codes related to employment and Equal Employment Opportunity regulations, ADA.
  • English is the primary business language. Second language in Spanish is desirable.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition: Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Sourcing and Screening: Utilize various sourcing techniques, including online job boards, social media, networking, and referrals, to identify potential candidates. Screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.
  • Candidate Engagement & Interview Coordination: Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process, providing updates and guidance as needed. Ensure a positive candidate experience from initial contact through onboarding. Assist with scheduling and coordinating interviews, both virtual and in-person. Prepare interview materials and provide support to hiring managers during the interview process.
  • Data Management, Compliance & Continuous Improvement: Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS). Generate reports and analyze recruitment data to identify trends and areas for improvement.Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies throughout the recruitment process. Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in recruitment and talent acquisition. Proactively identify opportunities to streamline and improve the recruitment process.
