We're seeking a future team member in the role of SQL Server Database Administrator (Azure) to join our Technology Services Group team. This role is located in Lake Mary, Florida or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Functional SQL Server Lead in US and UK directly interacting with team of 8 senior SQL Server database administrators.
  • Provide global functional leadership role for SQL Server database services covering SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS products.
  • Provide support for both on-prem and Azure SQL Managed instances and helping applications migrate to Azure cloud.
  • Review, assign and manage incidents and situations promptly and closely monitor resolution of issues prior to escalation.
  • Engage Database Engineering to test and validate patching and upgrade routines. Engage application stakeholders to notify, schedule and implement Database patching and upgrades
  • Ensure successful database backup jobs and provide leadership to database recovery requirements meeting business RTO requirements
  • Responsible to ensure resolution of issues after hours and update shift handover to other regions
  • Lead Database Performance tuning and capacity optimization initiatives with application and other stakeholders
  • Responsible to ensure database recovery readiness to alternate data centers

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree is beneficial 8-10 years of experience in design and administration of logical and relational databases or systems analysis required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
  • SQL Server certification at 2016 or higher version. Azure Database administrator certification.
  • SQL Server Expert in database administration and Performance optimization.
  • Having Service ownership mentality to own issues and stay engaged till resolution.
  • Coach/Mentor team members and other stakholders to achieve greater outcome.
  • Having inclination to innovative ideas and experience with automation of routine tasks.
