Overview

Lead software testing support for Air Force staff training simulations as part of a development team. Responsibilities include: ensuring that testing conclusions and recommendations are fully supported by test results, and program leadership is fully informed of testing status and application deviations from documented user requirements.

This position may require up to 10% travel, including international destinations.

Responsibilities
    Design, supervise, and execute functional, integration, and system test procedures
  • Identify opportunities for automated test and assist in test implementation
  • Assist end users, who may not be knowledgeable in test procedures, to accomplish user acceptance testing
  • Develop and refine test procedures to verify satisfaction of requirements in a complex to highly complex software system
  • Document test results and system defects
  • Provide onsite helpdesk and system operator support for major events or exercises
  • Install, operate, and maintain program software in support of test and exercise requirements
  • Understand and adhere to project schedules and stay within established budgets
  • Comply with program processes for software development and configuration management. This includes meaningful participation in Agile development process events such as scrums and sprint reviews
Required Experience/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, information technology, systems or software engineering from an accredited college or university or any bachelor's and two years additional software testing experience. High school diploma and 5 years' additional testing experience can substitute for bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum 8 years software testing experience.
  • Firm understanding of processes involved in full software development lifecycle
  • Strong Linux skills
  • Troubleshooting and system analysis
  • Experience in the development of test scenarios and providing support for User Acceptance Testing
  • Experience in assisting developers in creating and maintaining automated test scripts
  • Comfortable operating with minimal supervision and coordinating with a geographically distributed team
  • Written and oral communication skills sufficient to document test results and explain them to both developers and system users
  • Use of Git or similar version control system
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
  • Experience conducting simulation federation testing
  • Experience operating in an Agile development environment
  • Experience operating in a continuous integration pipeline environment
  • Experience with secure systems
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM)
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Special Requirements/Security Clearance
  • U. S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET to TOP SECRET security clearance
