The Production Supervisor assists Production Operations Management leadership with various tasks, overseeing and directing the activities of the assembly personnel throughout the shift. Ensuring that parts and/or assemblies are being testing and inspected as planned in the part routing, then sent to the inventory area until shipped out as part of the final configurable items (CI) or products. The production supervisor is the person that keep things moving on the floor to include in other work centers such as configuration management (CM), production test, quality, and material control. If parts are held up, the supervisor helps determine priorities and keeps product moving throughout the manufacturing process and work centers. Keeping in constant communication with Production Planning to ensure that materials are arriving in time to complete the program and employees have work on the floor. Oversee production reporting activities, and the production floor directly supervising employees and leads. Ensures employees are effectively trained for their position by assisting with planning training classes and instruction.
Typical Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Ensuring parts are brought to the floor and leads are distributing the parts and manufacturing orders for assembly
Ensuring the assembly builds are built timely according to build rates and delivered without defects to the stockroom or internal customers
Maintaining a high level of communication with all departments involved in the Manufacturing processes
Keeping things moving on the floor to include in other work centers such as configuration management (CM), production test, quality, and material control work with other departments to solve issues/problems to keep work flowing
Creating and/or approving purchase requisitions for materials and tools needed for the Assembly area, check stock levels of floor supplies on a regular basis
Maintaining open communication with Production Control to ensure timely delivery of materials
Providing management with a weekly assessment on hours being charged by the assembly employees to ensure correct and accurate charging
Approving timecards for Assembly personnel to include reviewing timesheet reports and communicating updates as needed
Maintaining working relationship with Manufacturing Engineering to assist in drawing translation, work instructions and provide support in building tools or other items that will aide in improved manufacturability of assembled parts
Providing management with input regarding personnel issues and assist in the discipline of employees, if needed
Assisting in developing and implementing techniques, processes, tools, and specifications to best utilize Assembly equipment and personnel
Develop, train and mentor assembly personnel through regular feedback, participation in group decision-making, open communication and setting priorities; ensuring that all training is current and effective
Responsible for the Assembly operations and production results of assembly to include goal achievement, problem solving coordination, and establishment of shift priorities
Providing leadership and direction in Safety, Quality, and Productivity using continuous improvement process
Creating and/or assigning product discrepancy reports to employees via JIRA
Evaluating job performance of operators and assist in the mentoring and development of the team
Ensuring compliance to company policies, procedures, standard practices, and IPC standards
Maintaining shift performance and documentation of production results
Determine training needs and develop and execute training plan as needed to ensure all assembly personnel are trained efficiently to be successful assemblers and/or leads
Reporting to management any problems that arise impacting the manufacturing schedule, delivery delays or discrepant material problems

High School Diploma
Five years' experience in Assembly or manufacturing supervision
Strong computer skills
Must be able to generate reports in Excel
Working knowledge of OSHA and ISO 9001:2015
