Job Description

Advises, leads, consults, and coordinates with Manufacturing organizations of North America, Contractors, Research and Development, Commercial, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Technical Services.

JOB DIMENSIONS
- General purpose: integral part of the operations team, championing the continuous improvement of ArrMaz's North American safety culture.

ACTIVITIES

- Provide "boots on the ground" field safety support - observing, engaging and coaching all North American operations, maintenance and contractors employees. (Sites currently located in Florida, Idaho, Louisiana and North Carolina)
- Create continuity in our safety culture between all North American sites.
- Support the continuous improvement of our behavioral based safety program by creating an interdependent work culture.
- Conduct site audits to evaluate plant compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and identify areas for improvement.
- Perform as a subject matter expert on Root Cause Analysis (RCA), leading investigations, presenting analysis, making recommendations, and following up on corrective actions to ensure they are brought to a timely closure.
- Champion a world class Lock-out, Tag-out, Try-out (LOTOTO) program working directly with operations, maintenance and contractors.
- Support the development of a Process Safety Management (PSM) program.
- Lead hazard and operability (HAZOP) reviews for new processes, site expansion projects, and manufacturing standard operating procedures (SOPs), and support the business with management of change systems from an EHS perspective.
- Assist operations and engineering with developing job plans to efficiently and safely execute capital improvements and maintenance activities.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and delivery of required EHS training.
- Manage asbestos remediation plan for North American sites, including all inspections and sampling for our Mulberry facility.
- Travel, up to 15%.
- Other duties as assigned.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
- Working environment is in a chemical facility. The job requires some physical work that can involve routine lifting, climbing, bending, stooping, crouching, and standing for long hours.
- Must physically be able to navigate the facility, including climbing ladders and accessing work platforms, in order to label tanks and/or areas in accordance with the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard.
- Sitting for long periods of time.
- Extended time on a computer - repetitive motion.
- Must be able to pass a post-offer/pre-placement drug screen, background check and job- related pulmonary function test.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must have proficient computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Database Applications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities and deadlines; results driven.
- Detail-oriented and be able to adhere to deadlines and have strong technical, organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate and influence operations personnel in their work environments, as well as communicate with the Senior Executive leadership team.
- Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
- Demonstrate the ability to take initiative.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health and Safety; Industrial Hygiene; Chemistry; Environmental Science; Chemical Engineering; or a related technical discipline is preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years' work experience with responsibilities in EHS compliance is required, preferably in a process manufacturing or chemical plant environment.
- Expertise in local, state, and federal EHS regulations, recordkeeping, reporting, and compliance, required.
- Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM), Behavior Based Safety, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, is preferred.
- Professional EHS Certifications (CSP, ASP, CIH, OHST, CHMM, etc.) are a plus.
