OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANYFox TV Stations

FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Solutions Engineer, Ad Integrations will be responsible for implementing and maintaining video and display ad technology at FOX Television Stations. This role will integrate and validate solutions to ensure delivery, playback, and signal fidelity are optimized for digital monetization.


This role will be the primary subject matter expert and main technical contact for day-to-day collaboration between FTS Product, Ad Operations, business intelligence, engineering, and sales; handling on-boarding and maintenance of new supply/demand partners and ad tech features across all platforms within the FTS portfolio. (Web, Mobile, CTV, FAST)

This individual will play a key role in the continuous improvement and management of all digital advertising efforts. Proven experience with both direct and programmatic video, ad server technology, troubleshooting methodologies and campaign operations are essential to success in this position.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a fundamental understanding of the needs and business objectives of internal stakeholders and engage at a detailed technical level to drive product requirements and execution.

  • Engage with ad operations teams both internally and externally to maximize ad delivery and yield across the entire FOX ad stack including SSP and DSP partners.

  • Consult with and review pre-sales technical documentation to advocate for FTS best practices.

  • Accountability for planning and managing test activities. Create, develop and deploy detailed scripts with QA and Ad Ops teams.

  • Collaborate with the technical lead and/or scrum master to scope each development sprint, track progress, and work through development hurdles to deliver a great product on time and within scope

  • Lead technical advertising integration projects by effectively communicating project milestones, technical requirements, timelines, and QA feedback to stakeholders.

  • Serve as a digital advertising subject matter expert and evangelist within the FTS Digital Department.

  • Work collaboratively with FTS's Digital Ad Sales team to ensure the quality of digital advertising products by developing use cases, reviewing test cases, tracking bugs and working toward optimization.

  • Manage corporate initiatives with accurate time estimates, adherence to deadlines, and strong communication to executive stakeholders.

  • Stay abreast of the latest digital advertising trends and advocate for integrating them into business roadmaps.

  • Other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting ad technology, on both the client/player as well as the ADS.

  • Experience with both Freewheel MRM and Google Ad Manager ad servers.

  • Experience with live workflows is a must. SCTE insertion and exploitation within an end-to-end live environment.

  • Deep knowledge of ad serving standards such as VAST, VMAP, VPAID, Smart XML, ORTB, SSAI, CSAI.

  • Understanding of video streaming technologies such as HLS, DASH, DRM and other rich media technologies.

  • Experience using Jira or similar system to track feature requirements and development progress.

  • Experience developing digital video ad-related products and/or solutions.

  • Demonstrate-able understanding of the interplay between Order Management Systems, Programmatic exchanges, header bidder/unified bidder technology, Ad Decisioning Servers, and players.

  • Must be able to work effectively with business and technical resources at all levels, including senior management.

  • Proactive problem solver, who can work both collaboratively and independently.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Media & Entertainment industry experience is a plus.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $150,000.00-170,000.00 annually for California, Washington, New York City and Westchester County, NY. $125,000.00-141,600.00 annually for Colorado. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
